The National Association of School Resource Officers (NASRO) is seeking a Director of Operations. NASRO is a not-for-profit dedicated to providing the highest quality of training to school-based law enforcement officers to promote safer schools and safer children. • Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice, Education, Management or related field of study required
• Ten years’ experience as a school resource officer or SRO supervisor or substantially similar position
• Comprehensive knowledge of law enforcement training and ability to provide training
• Ability to travel on extremely short notice
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Effective Presentation skills and experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel
• Experience managing office staff and related functions a plus
• Curriculum development experience a plus

Job Description
The principal function of employee is to work closely with the Executive Director to conduct NASRO presentations and trainings at state association and school safety conferences, represent NASRO at meetings that further the organization’s mission and assist with conference planning. Employee will assist Executive Director to ensure that the NASRO office functions smoothly. Employee will assist Training Director in curriculum development, identifying authors for the Journal of School Safety and serving as a NASRO instructor when needed. This position is based at the NASRO office in Hoover, AL. It is expected that approximately 30% of employee’s time will be travel. The work is performed under the supervision and direction of the Executive Director. The nature of the work performed requires that Employee establish and maintain effective working relationships with the NASRO Board of Directors, NASRO office staff, contract staff, various national agencies and organizations and the general public.
