Job Description:
• Manage and facilitate the creation of one-on-one relationships between pre-release offenders (mentees) and qualified adults (mentors)
• Recruit, screen, interview, select, and train caring adults that are willing to commit to a mentoring relationship with an ex-offender.
• Manage and support the mentee-mentor relationships through frequent and thorough case work with mentors and mentees.
• Prepare life-plan for re-entering offenders by assessing individual’s needs & connecting with appropriate services
• Facilitate training of potential mentors and provide ongoing training & workshops
• Facilitate mentor/mentee outings by guiding them towards relevant activities, skills and goals.
• Maintain appropriate documentation and records as required by the IMPACT Reentry Mentoring Program and the funding agency.
• Assist with acquiring job training and temporary to permanent employment.
• Assist with and facilitate family reunification.
• Provide case management services to strengthen economic stability of men involved in UTurn
• Work with clients to develop measurable goals to maintain economic stability and review goals with client monthly
• Assist clients with vocational needs through resume building, interview coaching, and connecting client with potential employment
• Maintain working relationship with existing service providers to determine appropriate supplemental needs such as license, housing, birth certificates etc.
• Providing advocacy with legal entities by effectively communicating with judicial authorities resolve legal obligations
• Provide transportation for clients when necessary
• Ensure high-level proficiency in applying risk management knowledge, policies and procedures throughout all aspects of job function

Minimum Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, Criminology, or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience working with low income clients & high-risk ex-offenders.
• Experience with job
• Strong interpersonal skills and able to build rapport easily with program participants
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Working knowledge of local medical, mental health, and vocation resources
• Be able to maintain confidentiality when carrying out all job duties
• Must possess strong organizational skills and able to multi-task
• Be flexible and work as part of a team
• Valid driver’s license and auto insurance

Work Schedule: Full time position with varying flexible hours
